  Recipe Baking: quick easy Steak cooking  Directory 

   Recipe Baking: STEAK STROGANOFF

   1 lg. onion, sliced
1 tbsp. salad oil
4 cubed steaks
4 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. salad oil
Salt and pepper to taste
8 oz. sour cream
4 oz. can mushroom stems and pieces

In skillet, saute onion slices in 1 tablespoon oil; remove and set aside. Coat steaks with flour. In same skillet, heat 2 tablespoons oil and cook steaks over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Place steaks on platter. Drain fat from skillet. Add onions, mushrooms with liquid and sour cream to skillet. Heat, stirring occasionally. Serve sauce over steaks. Serve with noodles. Serves 4. .

                      OVEN ROUND STEAK CASSEROLE

     2 lb. round steak, cut in serving
pieces
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. corn oil
3 lg. potatoes
1 bay leaf
1 can diluted tomato soup or mushroom
soup

Roll steak in flour and brown in oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Place steak in a large casserole. Saute onion in fat and spread over meat. Add peeled potatoes cut in half to meat and onions. Add bay leaf and diluted soup. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour covered.
