Recipe Baking: TRADITIONAL GREEN PEPPER STEAK
1 lb. beef round steak cut in 1/4 inch
wide strips
1 tsp. paprika - sprinkle over meat
2 cloves garlic (or equivalent)
crushed
1 1/2 c. beef broth
1 c. sliced green onion
1 can DelMonte tomato wedges (drained)
1 lg. can sliced mushrooms (drained)
2 green peppers cut in strips
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. soy sauce
Cooked rice
Brown meat in butter. Add garlic and broth. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in green pepper, mushrooms and tomatoes. Cook about 5 minutes
(until peppers start to get tender). Combine soy sauce, water and
cornstarch and MIX WELL. Add to meat mixture and cook until thickened.
Stir in onions. Serve over rice or chow mein noodles.

OLD
FASHIONED CUBED STEAK
1 1/2 lbs. cubed steak
Salt and pepper
Flour
Vegetable oil
1/4 c. unsifted flour
1 1/2 c. water
2 Wielder's beef flavor bouillon cubes
or 2 tsp. instant bouillon
1 med. onion, sliced
Sprinkle steak lightly with salt and pepper; coat with flour. In large
skillet, brown steak in hot oil; remove from skillet. Pour off all but 3
tablespoons fat. Stir in 1/4 cup flour; cook and stir until flour
browns. Stir in water and bouillon; stir until bouillon dissolves. Add
onion and meat. Cover; simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until tender. Serve
hot. Refrigerate leftovers. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
