  Recipe Baking: Steak - low fat - special diet  Directory    

   Recipe Baking: MICROWAVE PEPPER STEAK


 1 lb. beef, cut into 1/8 inch strips
(about 3 inches long)
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1/3 c. dry white wine
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 onions, sliced thin
2 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
1 pt. cherry tomatoes

Place meat in 2 quart casserole and marinate with soy, wine, water, and sugar mixture for 1 to 2 hours. Stir in cornstarch, onion, mushrooms, and green pepper. Microwave, covered, on high for 8 to 10 minutes or until sauce is thickened. Stir once or twice during cooking. Pierce skins on tomatoes and add to meat. Cook on high for 1 minute.

   Return to Steak microwave oven or return to Steak main directory

MICROWAVE CUBE STEAK

 1 lb. cube steaks
3 tbsp. dry onions
3 tbsp. minced garlic
1/4 c. Molly McButter
Salt
Pepper
Water

Place cube steaks in microwave bowl. Add water to cover bottom of dish (about 1/4 c.). Sprinkle meat with onions, garlic and Molly McButter. Place in microwave for 10 to 15 minutes, turning meat every 3 to 4 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
